The State-of-the-Art Cath Lab Facility

Sri Raju Heart & Skin Hospital proudly houses a state-of-the-art Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab)—a critical component in the diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiovascular conditions. Designed with advanced imaging technology and precision equipment, our Cath Lab enables interventional cardiologists to perform minimally invasive procedures with high accuracy and safety.

This sterile, high-tech environment supports a wide range of cardiac interventions, from diagnostic procedures like coronary angiograms to advanced treatments such as angioplasty, device closures, and pacemaker implantations. Real-time digital imaging systems allow for detailed visualisation of blood vessels and the heart’s internal structures, aiding in accurate diagnosis and swift clinical decisions.

Our Cath Lab plays a key role in handling cardiac emergencies, especially in cases of acute coronary syndromes where timely intervention can be life-saving. It enables Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (Primary PCI)—a frontline treatment for heart attacks—ensuring blocked arteries are opened within the golden hour to restore blood flow and minimise heart damage.

Operated by a team of skilled interventional cardiologists and trained technicians, the Cath Lab is also where Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) procedures, balloon valvuloplasties, and pacemaker insertions are successfully carried out.

The integration of cutting-edge technology with expert hands has made our Cath Lab a cornerstone of cardiac care in Kallakurichi. As the first such facility in the region, it stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering affordable, world-class cardiac services to both rural and suburban populations.
